HINT: allow access to registration page

I’m sorry you had trouble using Force Login. It was built to work with the default WordPress login, lost-password, and register screens:

/wp-login.php?action=register

If your site is using a custom registration URL, you will need to use Force Login’s bypass filter to allow public access to that custom URL.

For example,?if you’re using the BuddyPress plugin, you’ll need to bypass Force Login for that plugin’s custom pages. Check out this topic for an example:
