    Hi team,

Just noticed in the last week or two that my posts have stopped loading.

I think it has something to do with GDPR. It’s giving me three errors:

A folder for storing resized images was not successfully created.

I’ve checked this one. The folder exists and has many images in it

Tables used for storing information about resized images were not successfully created.

This table exists and is populated

An image editor is not available on your server. Instagram Feed is unable to create local resized images.

Imagick is installed and seems to be running ok

I have “Favor local images” ticked. I click the “retest” button for the GDPR but it doesn’t seem to change anything. There is an error in the Chrome console that says “Cannot read property ‘replace’ of undefined” but not sure if that’s just a symptom of something else.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Steve

Sorry for the issue here Steve!

It seems there is a bug in our code that is reporting errors that don’t exist. We will fix this in an update. I see that your images are displaying on your site now. Did you still need any help?

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Hey Craig,

Thanks for getting back to me. The only images showing up at the moment are the hard-coded ones – the Instagram ones themselves aren’t appearing. It’s loading the information and substituting the photo with a placeholder image, but that placeholder isn’t showing up either for some reason.

Is there any fix I can use in the meantime to override it the GPDR thing?

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Hey @steveatee,

Thank you for the additional information.

Due to the holidays it may take some additional time for Craig to get back to you on this one – although he is certainly looking into the bug itself. For now, you can disable the GDPR setting completely and the plugin will work as it did before the update. Go to Instagram Feed > Customize > GDPR and set it to ‘No’, then Save Changes. You may also need to click ‘Reset Resized Images’ and ‘Clear Backup Caches’, then load the page with the feed again.

If the feed still doesn’t work with this, there may be something else keeping our feed from loading as expected. In that case, please send us a support request including your System Info here on our website. From there, we can further provide assistance. Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
