• Hi there,
I can’t understand why the 2FA is not working properly.
Wordpress shows that login is blocked, because it is required to be active on all administrator accounts.

But the thing is that it doesn’t allow me to enter the 2FA code from google authenticator. There is no a second step.
Once I enter my wordpress admin credentials a warning message tells me that that login is blocked.

    How can I solve it?

Hello @gamma42 and thanks for reaching out to us!

I’m happy to provide you with instructions on how to get back into your site. Follow these steps:

    • Please use FTP/SFTP — or any file manager your web host provides via their administration panel.
    • Look inside the /wp-content/plugins/ directory and rename the wordfence directory to wordfence.bak.
    • Once you have logged in to your WordPress admin you can name the folder back to wordfence again.
    • Refresh your dashboard and you should be able to see Wordfence Active again. If not, go to the Plugins page and Activate it.

Once you are back in, let’s figure out what happened. Navigate to your Wordfence > Login Security page and make sure that 2FA is set up completely.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!

Thank you for your quick response.
Well I tell you what happened in the real beginning; basically I created a staging copy of my website, I switched off the 2FA (cause I was already using it) and then I pushed staging copy to live site. Then again I turned it on, but how I was telling you, I don’t have any clue of why is behaving in this way. I didn’t change the settings. I have just activated the option for 2FA.

Since moving it from staging to prod might of changed something within the tables.

Can you send me a diagnostic from your production site (this is where you are having the issue, right?)

Send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks!
