    Hello,

I am creating a WordPress Site using the WooCommerce plug-in, and had a question about how to best set up user permissions for vendors regarding refunds.

My site also uses Learndash, and with the WooCommerce for Learndash add-on, I am planning on having non-employee instructors on my site sell their own Learndash courses through WooCommerce by creating a virtual product that is associated with their course. Ideally, I want to allow instructors to be able to (A) create the WooCommerce product for their course by themselves so they can set the price, and (B) manage student refunds for that WooCommerce product by themselves (I’m also planning on using the WC Smart Refunder Add-on).

However, the problems I was having around permissions were that I couldn’t figure out how to restrict instructors so they can only create products for their Learndash courses (currently they could create a product for any course on my site) and I also couldn’t figure out how to allow instructors to only manage refunds for the products associated with their courses instead of any product in my shop.

My only solution at the moment is to create every WooCommerce product and manage every refund by myself, but this could quickly become inconvenient and I’d like to give my instructors more freedom to choose when / if to provide refunds for their own students. Do you any ideas about how to set up permissions so that vendors can only manage refunds for their own products, or any other advice for simplifying this process?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The separation of what vendors have access to would be determined by the vendor plugin that you are using on the site (since there is no built-in functionality for managing different vendors in the core WooCommerce plugin). From the subject of your post, it looks like you are using the “WC Vendors” plugin for this. I would recommend reaching out to their team to ask about this, since they will know best about that vendor functionality:

If you were actually using a different Vendor plugin, please reach out to the team behind the specific plugin you are using.

Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
