Share via LinkedIn not working

    Dear Support Team,

    we are using the free plug in “podcast player” on our website. Unfortunately we can not use the share on linkedIn button, as it gives us an error message. Would you have a look into the code and maybe update the plug in, or did we do something wrong?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for trying Podcast player.

    Can you inform in a bit more detail about the error message you are receiving. I just tried to share the episode using Linkedin link. It takes me to the Linkedin login page (Which I think is the expected behavior).

    There is one more thing, I think you are using Complianz plugin, which might be interfering with Linkedin behavior due to privacy concerns. Please check that as well.

    Hey there,

    thank you for your quick response. It is referring to linkedIn correctly, but I noticed, that linkedIn doesn’t allow to share a MP3 file, could that be the case?

    LinkedIn just says “something went wrong”, when you click on the link, but I can see that the referrer link is correct on a syntax view…

    Hi there,

    1. You are right. Perhaps, you cannot share audio files on Linkedin.
    2. Podcast player fetches share link from the <link> tag for the episode in your RSS feed.
    3. In your case, mp3 file URLs are there in the link tag.
    4. You can change mp3 URL to some page URL (a page for individual episode) in the link tag. This can be done with your podcast host.
