    Hello
I runned updates for Word press and contact form to the latest versions. (Version: 5.3.1, WordPress 5,6). After that forms stopped sending e-mails and also generate errors message upon sending them. However Form data they get stored in Flamingo it seems. But there are no confirmations e-mails being sent out and for a submitter it looks that it’s an error on the website.

To be noted is that today we did major updates for 2021 with the forms adding new course data. But after searching I think this error connects with the WP and Contact Form updates executed today.

The forms are used for submitting interest for courses.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Try switching to the default theme and deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, PHP Compatibility Checker, and Yoast SEO. Don’t forget to clear cache if you use it.

Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

    Hello, Takayuki

Thanks for help. The forms works now – but I had to shut down the Cornerstone plugin for a moment.

What I did now was to update the SMTP settings for the site. It was actually put on a sister domain to this website. So maybe the recent updates caused a reaction as it was actually not set up for the correct domain previously.

I also shut down the Facebook pixel – that has caused similar problems before.
But then suddenly the Cornerstone plugin started to behave as it was updated to.

So status is as follows now. The Cornerstone plugin (a part of the X-theme) is shut down. Making the website look a bit strange with html codes being visible.

However the good news is that the forms works again. And the Facebook pixel is activated also and works.

The Cornerstone plugin makes the website crash however and promts the following error code: Fatal error : Cannot redeclare class X_View_Router in /home/u/u0577057/www/zfill/wp-content/themes/x/framework/functions/frontend/view-routing.php on line 73

I have made a question in theme.co supportforum about this issue. But maybe you can see a connection with the forms or email with this? Or this some completely different issue, just occuring at the same time.

    Hello,
everything works now. It seems in this case have been a combination of an issue with the SMTP hosting and a Theme plugin, happening at the same time. All these issues are solved now and the website works again!

Where did you adjust the SMTP hosting? Wondering if maybe that could be the issue with my site.

    Hello
yes on my site there is a plugin that is called “Easy WP SMTP” where these things are edited. In my case it was there an email adress as “sender” for email from forms on the website but under another domain han the actual website domain. It seems that had worked anyway for over 7 years, until yesterday.

Maybe there is another plugin also with similar function on your website?

    Hello @jenemi,

You can set up SMTP on WordPress using a plugin, there are several free options available, but first I recommend you watch this video tutorial for more details: How To Setup WordPress SMTP For Sending Emails.

    Best regards,
    Yordan.
