I am creating a website that will have a store developed with WooCommerce. The client wants to launch the site soon but the store is not yet ready. Can I disable WooCommerce, put the site into production and then activate it safely?

    Hi there,

In a nutshell, yes, that should be fine.

Similar to other plugins WooCommerce too can be activated and deactivated without affecting how the rest of WordPress functions. Of course, you won’t be able to access WooCommerce products, content, and its sections/features when it’s not active. Also, if you have other plugins that require WooCommerce to be active to work themselves, they too might deactivate.

You can test the impact disabling WooCommerce would have on your site while you’re still on staging, then what happens on your live site will not come as a surprise.
