Hi David. Hopy you are doing well. I am working together with some people who are not Techies. So whenever possible I would like to do so much things easy as possible. To get things in an automatic way if possible.

I am thinking about sending a post via email (you might remember the plug-in Postie ?? ). Sending an email it creates a wordpress post (incld. category and tag) with attached images from the email . MLA is working fine. One of the mla plug-in examples you’ve created is Smart Media Categories. Would it be possible to trigger that plug-in when an email arrives? In that case I can have the post terms in the attached images as well in one go. Also it would be great have this process first and after that to get the iptc/exif mapping in the 2nd place hence I’m using MLA Substitution Parameter Hooks Example, parameters like “parent:title”.

I hope I could make my wish clear, if you have time and need more information let me know.

    Have a good weekend, Ernst-Wilhelm

Thanks for working with me offline to explore and resolve the interaction issues with MLA, Smart Media Categories and Postie.

I have released MLA v2.93, which contains an updated Smart Media Categories example plugin that supports the Postie “post by email” process.

During our investigation I discovered that Postie handles the post Title value in a unique way. I have developed a separate “MLA Postie Post After Example” plugin to apply MLA’s mapping rules after Postie has completed all of its own processing. This plugin will be added to my next MLA versioin.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please contact me if you have any remaining problems or further questions regarding Postie support in MLA and Smart Media Categories. Thanks for your continued interest in the plugins.
