• I reset my site due to some issues and installed WordPress 5.5.3. I uploaded custom posts and postmeta tables as I couldn’t use any importer to import data. However, this created several issues including not being able to change the default menu or upload any media. Later, I emptied the _postmeta table and was able to customize my site to some extent. However, I still cannot add any pages to the menu and receive a message stating, “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” The image is uploaded in the uploads\2020\12 directory and I deleted them several times. What is the problem and how should I fix it? Thanks in advance.

I’m guessing the table structure is not as WP is expecting. Without knowing what you did to import or being able to closely examine your site, it’s very difficult to say for sure. The level of access needed is beyond the scope of these forums.

I’m hoping you’ve found a solution by now. If not, about all I could suggest is backup everything, then start with a fresh install and find an alternative way to import that doesn’t involve messing with table structure.
