I’m building a theme from scratch, basing it on the default theme that comes with WordPress. I’m fairly familiar with the way most of the tags are used and usually pretty good about finding solutions on my own – but this time I’m stumped.

I have a variety of style sheets I need included in my files.
    – Reset Sheet
    – Home Stylesheet
    – Home Alternate
    – Home Mobile
    – Interior
    – Interior Alternate
    – Interior Mobile

I’d like to keep them all in a subfolder – I’m kind of OCD about server organization. However when I began to set up the styles (and removed the style.css file from the template main folder) wordpress switches back to the default theme and gives me the “Broken Theme” error – due to “missing style sheet.”

Is there any way to use style.css to call all the other stylesheets, or update the theme to realize the base style sheet is in a subfolder?

    Thanks.

I search for solutions for problems I come across, then post here whenever I can’t find one…

Then immediately find the answer elsewhere.

Evidently I need to use the @import ability css has.
