    Hi, please check the Gmail settings in the following documentation.

    https://wp-ecommerce.net/easy-wordpress-smtp-send-emails-from-your-wordpress-site-using-a-smtp-server-2197

    Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you

    Hey, I’m getting the same thing error.

    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO ppcsamurai.com
    CLIENT -> SERVER: AUTH LOGIN
    CLIENT -> SERVER: [credentials hidden]CLIENT -> SERVER: [credentials hidden]SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at
    535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials n5sm249340pgm.29 – gsmtp

    I used the SMTP settings from the settings provided:
    Gmail
    SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
    Type of Encryption: TLS
    SMTP Port: 587

    It appears Google is not allowing the plug-in to authenticate on my behalf. I received the below notification from Google :

    Sign-in attempt was blocked
    <email of my account>

    Someone just used your password to try to sign in to your account from a non-Google app. Google blocked them, but you should check what happened. Review your account activity to make sure no one else has access.

    I can’t work out how to let Google accept the login from the plug-in – Am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks,
    Tom

    ok, sorry – it appears I had the wrong port number when it triggered this error. I had used 465.

    I have updated the port to 587 – so all the details are correct as per:
    Gmail
    SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
    Type of Encryption: TLS
    SMTP Port: 587

    I now get this error – I see from your pinned post this is something incorrect with the SMTP settings?

    SMTP ERROR: Failed to connect to server: (0)

    Thanks,
    Tom

    @tomppcsamurai, can you start a new support thread.

    Thank you
