Excerpt doesn’t populate

    Hi, our site is running the latest version of Yoast, and the page excerpt’s don’t automatically populate in the meta description section. Other variables like site and page titles populate automatically with the correct information. Are you able to help?

    We are sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing with our plugin.

    You might know, by default, the page has no excerpt. It’s likely that your theme or plugin adds this functionality.

    Having said that, Yoast SEO excerpt variable %%excerpt%% should display an excerpt in meta description if the content exists in the Page excerpt field like it does for Post excerpt.

    We tested this case with the default TwentyTwenty theme and the latest version of Yoast SEO v15.3 and do see the variable is able to output the page excerpt content on the meta description of the page source. Therefore, the plugin is working fine.

    To confirm, please perform the conflict check and confirm your WordPress and non-Yoast plugins all are the latest versions.
