How to display images instead of span for markercategory ?

I see two ways
1 you can create a custom tag and display an image from each category

2 or you can use css, hide text and add an image via :before :after

I tried with jQuery but it’s working in the tooltip, only on the filters.

I will try to create a custom tag because option 2 with :after or :before will display the same image and not a different one for each category.

I was thinking wouldn’t it be the easiest way to add a class to the category span like <span class=”cat_1″> ?
