WordPress sending SPAM when WPMailSMTP is configured

    Hello,

    I am receiving spam emails with the X-Mailer: WPMailSMTP/Mailer/smtp 2.5.1.

    I am using constants. When I break the settings spam is not sent.

    I have fresh reinstalled WordPress and my content and this is still happening.

    Anyone help?

    Hi @wmcclu88,

    our plugin is helping your WP site send emails, but it does not trigger the email sending. That is done by other plugins, your theme, or WP core by calling the wp_mail function.

    Please verify your installed plugins. Are you maybe using a contact form? That might be the cause of spam emails, if the form is not protected with some anti-spam service.
