can not add new field to pod

This sounds like a plugin or theme conflict.

i checked at plugin installation its saying ‘Compatible with your version of WordPress’ at the bottom right of ‘Pods – Custom Content Types and Fields ‘

Please read the page I referred to.
I’m nog talking about an incompatibility with WordPress.. I meant an incompatibility with one of your other plugins or maybe your theme.

The case you’ve mentioned sounds like a JavaScript error might be occurring and this is most of the time due to another plugin.
