Can’t change menu; item order

    I created a menu. The list of pages under the pages drop-down is in the order that I want them but that’s not the order that shows u on the actual page. I found a previous post on how to change the order of the menu items. It said under appearance menus, I could drag my items around. That doesn’t seem possible to do. If the list of pages in already in the order that I want, not only can I not drag them but I don’t know how I would reorder them, since the order in the list is correct. I don’t see the menu itself on the page for editing a menu and therefore, I can’t drag them that way either. How do I do this task please, which a post said is “easy.” Thanks.

    Update: I tried again to update the menu item order. Now the order of pages listed on the Edit Menus page has changed. It now matches the order when I “visit site.” So, I do not see any way to drag an item to a different spot. How is this done? Thanks.

    Also, just as a poster replied to a mesasge on this topic, changing her order numbers makes no difference at all.

    Also, isn’t home supposed to be first automatically>? Nothing about the orfder is working the way the videos I’ve seen say it should.

    I spent several hours creating, testing, and deleting menus and pages. I fixed the menu problem but in the process, the privacy policy page I got when I installed WordPress disappeared. No idea how to get that back. The only way I could solve my problem was to make exactly one page and add it to the menu. Then create another page and add it to the menu, etc. What grunt work. I thought that WordPress was supposed to reduce grunt work but apparently not.
