After installing the current version of MetaSlider (3.18.7), I am receiving the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in …wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/admin/support/Analytics.php on line 21

PHP version is old (5.3) and I cannot update at this time; WordPress version 5.1.8.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reporting. I can have it fixed in about 10-15 minutes.

    Hi,

When you get a chance can you update to 3.18.8 and let me know if everything is working out for you?

Hi, I updated and received this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in … wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/lib/appsero/src/Insights.php on line 779

    Hi,

Hmm that’s actually in a 3rd party library code we are using. I’ll have to see if I can make that compatible with PHP5.3. But I’ll need more time for that. I’ll update here when I have more information.

Thank you for your help. Where can I find an older version of MetaSlider?

    Here at the bottom:

You might want to go down to 3.18.2

I’m having issues getting the older version installed. Please let me know when you have updated the plugin. Thank you.

    Hi,

I fixed this in 3.18.9. Can you try it out? If you still have an issue after that, please let me know.

Yes! Thank you so much for fixing this so quickly. I love Metaslider and I’m happy to have it working on my website again.

    Hi,
