Best Way/Mode to Implement AMP for Posts if I use Neve and Elementor

    I have been trying AMP and everytime I manage to break my site so wanted to be sure this time.

    What’s the best way and mode to implement AMP for Blog Posts only (in the meantime). My confusion comes from the fact I use Neve theme, which is AMP-compatible and Elementor page-builder, which is not compatible. Im not really clear what mode and process applies to my case. Thanks!

  • Thanks for reaching out. You’re correct that Neve is AMP compatible. I suspect the issue you may be encountering may be related to some aspects of your page builder, or alternatively with additional third party plugins which may not have full AMP compatibility.

    While you’re investigating if you want to enable AMP for blog posts only you could apply the setting as below within your AMP plugin configurations, ensuring the “Content Types” option is set to “Posts” only and “Singular” templates alone are selected.

    Thanks James! Is there a way for me to test the AMP pages and make edits without actually activating AMP on the page and loading them to Google servers? Can’t seem to figure that out..

    If you have valid AMP URLs then at present they are eligible to be served via AMP cache. There is an open GitHub issue on the AMP framework repository in relation to opt outing out of AMP cache.

    We’re also working on adding such features within the plugin:
    https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/issues/5378

    In the meantime you can temporary enable AMP for particular content types during editing, while in transitional mode. Alternatively you could use a staging or local version of your site to test.
