    Hi,
With the Woocommerce update, my translations disappear. My translation file is disappearing in “system” but I don’t understand why. Woocommerce rewrites data over the language file. How can I turn this off?

    Hi there,

Are you saving your localisation files in the plugin directory or in the WordPress translations directory?

Hi @loopforever. Sorry that we missed your last response. Have you managed to resolve this issue? Unfortunately, I can no longer access the image at the link above.

Hello again, it’s been a long time. Thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately the problem still persists. I searched but couldn’t find an answer.
During the update, a warning like this comes up: Your Woocommerce language file is being updated.
Therefore, as I mentioned before, all changes are deleted after the update. For example, suppose I changed the word vendor to seller. After the update, this is again a vendor. So it is getting old.
As far as I understand, the new version is added over the language file again with the update.
Also marked “System” as below. Please see image.

Hi @loopforever. If you’d like to make your translations plugin safe, you should upload them to wp-content/languages/woocommerce as advised in this guide.

    Thank you for your answer.
1-) I have to create a file like this.

2-) I have to load files with .po and .mo extensions in this file.

    Did I get right ?

Hi @loopforever. Looking at the screenshot again, you are using Loco Translate which is stored in this file. In that case, it’s advised to use the Custom location and not the Author or System location:

The Author location will be overwritten by updates of the plugin and the System location will be overwritten by updates at www.remarpro.com.

    I hope that helps.
