The Events Calendar event links not working
-
This problem probably started around 1-2 weeks ago (10/12/2020).
When I click on an event such as https://imana.org/event/fall-campaign-event-save-smile-nov-21/this link simply takes me back to the list view of the events calendar. All the events do that, even though the URL is the url of the specific event that I clicked.
I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating it, but it doesn’t work. I’ve also tried reverting to the default theme, but that doesn’t help either.
I flushed my permalinks as well.

Hi @kiran10
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue.
As a first step, can you try flushing your permalinks by going to Settings > Permalinks and Save Changes.
If that doesn’t help, can you try a quick test and see if the functionality works as expected with a bare WordPress install? A bare install is basically a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty and no other plugins besides ours installed. You may want to consider trying this out on a staging site so that you don’t have to switch things around on your live site.
I hope that helps!
Thanks,
JaimeHi Jaime,
I’m not sure if you read my post, but I did those things, and it didn’t seem to help.
Hi @kiran10
Thanks for giving that a try, I’m sorry to hear that didn’t work for you.
Did you also deactivate all other plugins and customizations on your site?
As a next step, can you copy and paste your system information in your next reply:

4.12.10I know it says the older version, because I tried reverting back to an older version to see if that was the problem, but it wasn’t.
Perhaps the “All In One WP Security” plugin is blocking something, like access to REST API. Disable it just for testing purposes. Disable all other plugins for testing purposes. If it works, then enable every plugin until you find the culprit.
Hi @anchises
Thanks for your response. Let me know how the testing goes and if you need any further assistance here!
Cheers,
JaimeThanks for the responses, but nothing seems to work. I think I might just have to find another event plugin, which is unfortunate because I really liked this plugin
Hi @kiran10
Thanks for your response. I’m sorry to hear that this still isn’t working for you.
Do you have caching enabled on your site? Can you see if temporarily disabling that allows your event links to work?
I unfortunately have not been able to replicate this issue when using a bare WordPress install on my local site, so there is likely something going on with your setup that is causing this issue.
Lastly, can you please enable WP_DEBUG and share any error messages that you may see.
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
JaimeI have the same problem.
When I click on an event to open it simply takes me back to the list view of the events calendar. All the events do that, even though the URL is the url of the specific event that I clicked.
@eduits oh really? You have the same problem? Could you post your system information as well? Maybe there are some similarities
I fixed it. Go to setting > display. Under LIST-MONTH-DAY disable new calendar design.
Wow! Thank you so much @eduits ! You are the best.
Great, glad to hear that this issue has been resolved!
I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as Resolved, but feel free to open up a new thread if anything else comes up.
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks,
JaimeThis just worked for me too… but isn’t there an elegant solution?
