    Hi,

I’ve just tried installing wordpress 2.9.1 and get some strange errors. I’ve tried installing it on two different hosts and have re-downloaded wordpress three times (including 2.9.0), but it still doesn’t work as should.

The post editor is a mess, the text is white on a white background and there is no TinyMCE. I can also not swap to HTML view. Then on the themes page, I get a bunch of errors, even though the default theme files are uploaded.

Please have a look at these screenshots…

Any help would be appreciated at this point.
    Thanks,

  • How did you go about the upgrade (and the re-upload)? My first guess would be that you have some missing core files.

    Hi,

Thanks, I have managed to get it working. I was installing from new.

In case someone else is having this same issue, here’s what I did:

    1. Installed WordPress 2.9 RC1 (Essentially 2.9.0)
    2. Did the Automatic Upgrade to 2.9.1 (This seemed to fix the TinyMCE)
    3. The styling still didn’t look correct though, so cleared my cache and tried again, this seemed to fix the issue.

I’m not sure if step 3 was the only step required, but upgrading did seem to get the TinyMCE working, so if you’re battling, give it a go.
