    Hi
I’m writing a big article and I discovered your plugin, but I have a small problem : I don’t how to use it ??

I use Gutenberg (up-to-date) and when I select a sentence in a paragraph block, the text is turned grey with the “footnote” small text at the left, but…nothing else

Perhaps I miss something, can you help me about it ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

You are using it correctly! The text that turns gray will be be displayed in a modern footnote when you view the post. The “footnote” text is only displayed when working int he Gutenberg editor (that’s just there to identify that the text highlighted in gray is text for a footnote).

    Best,
    Sean

Thanks Sean ! It is now clear for me ??
But I have another issue : the footnote is not saved.

If I select a sentence and I choose “Add a footnote” in dropdown menu, the text is turned into gray (it is normal)

But if I save the article (in fact a page, and I save it as a draft, I do’nt publish it) : the grey text is now without grey, like if I did’nt use the plugin ??

@fetard Is your site using any plugins that could be affecting the Gutenberg editor? I haven’t been able to replicate your issue on my end, so it’s possible there’s a compatibility issue.

In the meantime, you can also add footnotes by wrapping your footnote text in [mfn] and [/mfn]. So, this would[mfn]be text that's put in a footnote[/mfn]
