• Hello,

is there a way how to disable the default Colormag lightbox? It seems to be breaking/ overwriting the lightbox I want to use from Jetpack.

    Thanks

    Also, another question:

Is this even the default Colormag lightbox? I do not mean the featured lightbox, more like if you open the single pictures. It shows some really weird lightbox, and it does it on every theme so it can’t be related to Colormag then… I disabled all plugins and switched to Twenty Twenty and the same lightbox (And it’s not the Jetpack one, by the way). I am very confused.

I have no idea what is causing it. There were no plugins active and I even switched theme…

    Thanks!

    Hi @misaka1

You can go to your Dashboard ? Customizer ? Content ? Single Post where you should find the option to disable/enable featured lightbox for images.
As for the second query, no it isn’t ColorMag lightbox. To be sure if it’s a plugin conflict, maybe you can once try disabling all the plugins within your site and then check. Then you can enable the plugins one by one to detect the one causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve done this!

    Hey @nidwija
thank you for your quick answer.

I disabled all plugins and switched to Twenty Twenty in the troubleshooting mode, and it’s still doing the same thing. I do not understand it – if this lightbox isn’t the default lightbox from WordPress, Colormag, and I disabled all plugins, where is it coming from? I want to get rid of it.

Also, I do not mean the featured single post lightbox. I mean all single images in the article.

I understand that you can use a plugin for a different lightbox, but it’s getting overridden by this lightbox which does not seem to be coming from WP, Colormag, or any other plugin. I talked to a guy from Jetpack support and he told me that this is not the default lightbox for WordPress either.
What happens is that even after I use the Jetpack Carousel plugin, it’s randomly either working (showing the Jetpack’s lightbox) or showing this lightbox (that I hate and don’t want to show).

Since I am getting this lightbox even after I disabled absolutely every plugin and switched to the default theme, I am lost – I do not get where this lightbox comes from. That’s all I am trying to figure out.

    Thanks

    Hi @misaka1

Upon further inpection, it seems that your site is using Jetpack Carousel lightbox. And from the video, if no lightbox plugin is added in the site and if the image is linked to media file then, if you open a media file directly there shouldn’t be any lightbox at all. So once check the url for the image attachment and let me know!
