I use videos a lot and so I use the A3 Lazy Load plugin which allows me to put the videos on deferred load to save server resources and speed up the load on slow websites. The problem is that once the user accepts the cookies, it keeps forcing to load all the videos from the beginning of the post so it wastes a lot of resources because it doesn’t apply the deferred load effect in the iframes (in the photos it works perfectly). The plugin is fantastic and later I will invest in the paid version but please fix that bug, once the cookies are accepted let the videos have the possibility to continue using lazy load that with the images there are no problems. Thank you very much and I hope you accept my suggestion because when you implement it I will buy the plugin for all my websites.

    Hi @elevas33,

I ran the first scan, with your current situation; https://tools.pingdom.com/#5d4a23e6a7c00000

Could you enable Complianz, and YouTube integration?

This way I can see the difference. When Complianz blocks YouTube and then enables YouTube after consent it can be compared to Lazy Loading, as YouTube waits for consent.

Let me know when I can run a new test, regards Aert

Hello good morning but I’m supposed to have it already integrated, and if not, where can I integrate youtube in complianz?

    Hi @elevas33,

    It’s under Complianz – Integrations – Services – YouTube

Hello again, I had it activated and that’s when the user is asked to accept the consent when watching the video. So far so good, The problem is that all the videos are loaded at once once once the user accepts the cookies so the a3 lazy load plugin does not do its function of loading videos as they are visible by the user.

Next I will leave you 2 photos where you can see as in the first load all the videos if you activate the integration of Youtube in Complianz occupying the page 13.6 Megas.

In the second shot I have disabled the YouTube integration service of Complianz and now the A3 Lazy Load plugin loads the videos in a deferred way (they are loaded to measures that are scrolled and are visible by the user) so the page only weighs 1.9 megs and will grow as it is scrolled and the videos are appearing.

I would like you to add the possibility that with the youtube service active at the time the user accepts the Cookies the videos are loaded so that they only appear when they are visible by the user. Thank you very much.

    Hi @elevas33,

    To understand you correctly;

With Complianz enabled the resource count is better than with A3 Lazy Load plugin, if no consent is granted: 1.0mb vs 1.9mb

    https://snipboard.io/LlqVYD.jpg

But after consent, the YouTube resources should continue with deferred loading? Which in essence does happen because all other scripts, except 3rd-party scripts, are loaded. Everything else is deferred after consent.

If you want to defer based per video, relative to the page scroll, we could ask A3 to have a look.

Let me know if understood correctly,

    regards Aert

If that’s exactly what it is, the problem is that once it’s accepted it doesn’t continue with the deferred load, if you could contact A3 Lazy Load to give a solution between the 2 of you it would be great because surely it happens with all lazy load plugins…, when you have this fixed I will buy the plugin without hesitation the truth is very very good. Thank you very much.

    Hi @elevas33,

FYI: we put lazy loading on our backlog. Lazy-loading and interrupting a video is a bit difficult, so we will focus on a universal solution.

Excellent news, but it would be a fix to make the plugin compatible with the Lazy Load? Or you would get your own Lazy Load in the plugin, I think the best would be a universal fix. Thanks.

    Hi @elevas33,

We will strip the lazy loading before consent (an HTML attribute). This is because of some issues with lazy loading and showing the placeholders.

Because the videos are not loaded before consent, lazyload can be off without issues.

After consent, we will add lazy loading again, with the same attribute we stripped.

In essence, this would delay and lazy load the videos, which should optimize page speed as well.

We will run some tests and update as soon as we can.

Thank you very much for your support. The truth is that it is the best support of a plugin that I have had so it makes me want to buy the premium version which I will get for the first of the year. By the way, you have discount coupons ? I would like to get the biggest membership but it’s going to be cheaper. Greetings!

    Hi @elevas33,

Per forum guidelines, we can’t discuss our premium plugin on www.remarpro.com. Please leave a message at complianz.io/contact/ regarding any questions for premium.

Thanks, and keep an eye on the changelog:-)
