    Hi All,

I have installed WordFence free. I get the impression that it will block bad bots and site rippers. Do I still need to add code to my.htaccess file to block the list of bad bots and site rippers found on this page: List of Bad Bots and Site Rippers

Or, will WordFence (free) block all the bots and rippers listed?

    Thanks for the help.
    Andrew

Hi @cyberialman and thanks for your query about Wordfence.

Our Tools > Live Traffic page will show you crawlers and bots that have attempted to access and have been blocked by Wordfence. Our internal lists are regularly updated for the latest bots and other malicious techniques in order to protect our users.

You can read more about Live Traffic here:
    https://www.wordfence.com/help/tools/live-traffic/

By utilising the Brute Force and Rate Limiting settings, you can tighten or relax these attempts and how long the bots are blocked for if they violate one of the rules.

    I hope this helps you,

    Peter.
