    Hi,

This plugin takes care of the images which are not used. If you have duplicates but they are all in use, that will be really tricky to work with unfortunately.

Okay not used images can be filtered and can be deleted in bulk in free version?

I have added in Dev cannot find that option in free Plugins…is it in Pro?

In fact, what is the option are you looking for?

To reduce the number of images from media and optimize that both unused and duplicate…

The plugin doesn’t detect duplicates media entries. However, it deletes the useless images.

In fact, you should really have a look at the tutorial here: https://meowapps.com/media-cleaner-tutorial/. And don’t forget to make a good backup.

    Hi,
Actually, it is showing somehow duplicate and showing like this-2020/03/final-logo.png (+ 10 files)…Anyway can we delete Not attached files which is really not attaching with any?
    But how it is generated?
Can we simply delete Not attached files at once?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    will it work for multisite?
media distribution in multisite is different in our case.
    Main-site /uploads/<year>/<month>/<image>
    Sub-site /uploads/sites/<site-id>/<year>/<month>/<image>
    Will it work?

Hi, multisite media cleaner is a must feature in plugins like that. Does your PRO version offer that kind of functionality and is there an automatic or scheduled feature? Thanks.

    Hi guys,

Actually, it is showing somehow duplicate and showing like this-2020/03/final-logo.png (+ 10 files)

Are you sure they are duplicates? Can you show me a screenshot?

Anyway can we delete Not attached files which is really not attaching with any?

In the Media Library, not attached to something means that it is only not attached. It might be used in one place or more.

    Will it work for multisite?

Yes and no. Each site has to be handled separately. You can install the plugin on the main site (as it is the one holding the files for your plugins), but the Media Cleaner database and environment will be ran separately on each site. There is no choice on this; the environment is extremely important for Media Cleaner. It can’t be ran from the main site.

    Automatic or scheduled feature

Another yes and no ?? It’s very hard to schedule this, as the Media Cleaner process is very expensive in term of server-power. It analyzes everything about your install, every bit of data, and go through all your images and/or files. Scheduling this from the WordPress Admin would be a terrible mistake, and it would also be very hard to manage. I invite you to check how the WP Cron is working, and you will understand why it is a really bad idea ?? In the case of database cleaning, that is a very fast and simple process, so of course it can be done without any problem. For images and files, it’s a totally different level.

That said, with the Pro version, and a developer/technical person, you can implement that automatic or scheduled process to be ran on the server-side (on your server, not by your WordPress) using WP-CLI. Media Cleaner has support for that, and many of my users do this: https://meowapps.com/media-cleaner-tutorial/#WPCLI. This is for very experienced users.

    Hi @zotezo,

Unfortunately, you will need to debug this patiently. It can come from anything. You should either:

    – Check your PHP Error Logs: https://meowapps.com/tutorial-php-error-logs/
    – Check what’s the error (or what the server returns) with Chrome: https://meowapps.com/tutorial-network-activity-dev-tools/

    Hi,
    Showing this alert-
Important note about the following plugin(s) which you are using:

    – ACF
They require additional checks which are only implemented in Media Cleaner Pro.
    is it required Pro version?
    Is it required also
    Content Check
Checks if the media entries are used by the content (Posts, Pages and other Post Types, Metadata, Widgets, etc). Pagebuilders are only supported in the Pro Version.
    Thanks
