Hi I’ve searched through existing answers but my question isn’t covered…

I want to enable guest checkout on Paypal, and have seen tutorials for this, but I don’t have the ‘checkout’ tab in my Woocommerce settings

I enabled the Paypal express checkout and the tab still didn’t appear

Do I need to enable something else?

    Thanks

There is a “Checkout” page, where your customers finalize and place there order. There is not, however, a checkout tab in your WooCommerce settings. There is instead a “Payments” tab, where all of your payment methods are shown. You can then edit the options for those payments there.

Please note that allowing PayPal Guest checkout transactions, is not a WooCommerce setting. Even if you are using the official WooCommerce PayPal Checkout plugin.

Guest Checkouts with PayPal is a function that is controlled on PayPal’s side and is limited by several factors, such as the type of PayPal account that you have. If you have a PayPal Business account though, and are using the official plugin I mentioned above, you won’t need to make any special adjustments. Customers would have the option to log into their PayPal account at checkout, or to do a guest checkout.

    Ok thanks for answering Phil

So just to confirm, there’s nothing I can do to control whether someone is offered guest checkout or not from my end?

I’m using the Paypal standard checkout in Woocommerce at the moment and guest checkout never seems to be offered… do I need to use the express checkout instead?

That’s correct. Wether or not the “Guest Checkout” option is shown by PayPal, is determined by PayPal.

If you wish to offer customers that option, I would recommend the following:

    1. Please use the PayPal Checkout plugin, instead of the built-in PayPal Standard option.
    2. Contact PayPal to ensure that your account is a “Business” account and that guest checkouts for API transactions are enabled.

    Hi @harmlessvikmartin,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread ??

    Cheers!
