V1.2.2 Login Error and password issue.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem!

There appears to be some problem updating the mySQL database, so it doesn’t remember the new password.

Any suggestions anyone?

What version of WordPress?

It’s version 1.2.2.

I only installed WP over the weekend, never realised there’s a problem with the “Lost your password? ” feature cos i never had to use it. ??

So when i click on it, i’ll get that error message. I’ll receive an email with the new password, though it doesn’t work cos the database couldn’t be updated.

hi macmanx, it’s too much hassle to reset it manually everytime someone forgets their password.

Yes, but try to reset it manually, just once. Maybe that will fix the problem. Don’t just cast it aside and wait for another solution to drop by.

unfortunately it didn’t…

I can log in (cos I never forgot my password in the first place), but any attempt to send a new password will display that error message.

hey I tried a suggestion in another posting and it worked for me:

go to wp-login.php and change “$wpdb->users” to “$tableusers” in line 115

this doesn’t work, i dont seem to be able to find the string "$wpdb->users"
hasn’t this been taken out in 1.2.2? If so, now how can i solveit?

I’m using version 1.2.2 and it’s there inside wp-login.php . Did you look in the right place?
