wp 2.9.1 and WP.com stats 1.6.1 not working

  • I just upgraded wordpress to 2.9.1 and WordPress stats to 1.6.1. It was working perfectly before, but now it’s not.

    I’ve deleted and reinstalled, refreshed my page, relogged into the admin panel and nothing’s worked.

    If this has been answered in another thread, I missed it, please show me the thread and I can get the answer there.

    This is why I don’t upgrade plugins as a general rule. I can use the dashboard on wordpress.com, but it’s more convenient to have it on my own blog. I love this thing and I’ve come to rely on it.

    Never mind, I fixed it.

    From my wp-admin dashboard, plugins, I deleted the plugin. Deleted the wordpress status folder from my local version of the site.

    Downloaded it again to my hard drive.

    Uploaded it to the blog.

    Activated it again. Had to re enter the API key, then elected to inherit the stats from the old version of wordpress stats.

    Now it works like it did before.

    Don’t know what happened before – perhaps it’s because I entered the API key to the .php file before uploading it. Is it possible that’s what caused this?
