I deleted (put to trash) two individual events, one regular event the other an individual event from a recurrence series. A red circle with numeral 2 appeared beside the Events on the dashboard. I checked for orphan events and there is none. So what is the significance of the red circle indicator, other than indicating event deletion? How do I make it go away?

  • The number indicates how many events were deleted.
Go to the events main page, at the top there is a link “Trash”. Go there and click the button “empty trash”, the red circle with the number will disappear.

@rmz65 thanks for your reply. So empty trash will make the red circle goes away.
Today when I log back in the site, the red circle already disappeared without me doing anything. There must be a time duration for this indicator.

That is strange, is the trash really emtpy?
Normally WordPress deletes trashed items automatically after 30 days, and as long as there are deleted events the red circle should be there.

I have a slightly different version of this problem. My dashboard indicates that there are 10 items in the trash. Except there aren’t; the trash is empty, and there is no “trash” link.

As an experiment, I added a new event. Then I deleted the new event and the count increased to 11. When I emptied the trash, the count went back to 10.

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

Have you tried going to Events > Settings > Admin Tools > Remove Orphaned Events? Please let us know if this doesn’t fix the issue.
