• I build WordPress sites for a living and one of the hardest things I have to do and price is moving sites from a development environment to live. I’ve tried almost all of the plugins I think including ‘industry standard’ migration tools (which I have yet to get to work) and paid for systems like WPMU Shipper. So far none of them have been reliable and I usually end up manually copying files and teasing the database into the new location.

The annoying bit for me and my customers is that I can’t predict how long the migration will take and therefore how much I’ll need to charge them. Do I believe a plugins migration claims, or just base my pricing on a long hand copy across?

I came across this system after migrating 3 sites over to WPEngine. They use the same base as this and it worked quickly and flawlessly on all 3 sites coming from 3 very different environments (1 was even from a light speed server). There was no size limit warnings, no errors right at the end, it just worked.

I’ll be using this plugin from now on which will ease both my stress levels and my customers hip pocket shock.
