Poor performance with GTranslate

    Hi

    We have been using GTranslate for a few months now, but have found that it is seriously impacting the performance of our website, especially on mobile platforms. Is there a recommended configuration for GTranslate that minimises the drag on performance?

    Can you provide more details about the performance impact? Like how do you measure it and also what is your website address, so I can check it for you.

    Thanks for responding on this.

    The more testing we do, the more it appears that GTranslate may not be the biggest performance hit, though it does seem a significant contributor.

    Hi,

    I have checked your website with GTmetrix and analyzed the waterfall, but I do not see any evidence that GTranslate has a performance hit.

    You may want to measure it with GTranslate on and off and post here the difference.

    BTW. I would recommend using Cloudflare which will protect and speed up your website significantly.

    Many thanks for checking that out. By turning plugins on and off, we are getting closer to undertsanding what is causing the performance hit and it is certainly not all GTranslate by any means – in fact, the more we test, the less it looks like GTranslate is causing us any issues.

    I need to speak with our developers about Cloudflare again. We were using it but it was causing all sorts of issues with the website which ceased as soon as we deactivated Cloudflare.
