WordPress Update!! Please Help

    So i contacted my Host about my Fantasico Update. They say its not them, they have no control on when Fantastico updates WordPress. Ok i understand. My question is… Does ANYONE know when it will be updated?? Im still on 2.8.6 !!! I really want to update soon.

    Anyone??????

  • At the top of every page in the admin section is (presumably) a notice to upgrade. If you click the link you have the option of the automatic upgrade. Does that not work for you? A lot quicker than waiting for fantastithingy! ??

    yes i can see that but was told not to do that because it could mess up my site since im self hosted???

    Huh. I think someone misled you a bit. That feature was added only for those of us that are self-hosted!

    Good call — it never hurts to backup the site (and database!) before an upgrade. But yep, that link is there for you ??

    Hi, I just upgraded to 2.9.1/ It messed up my blog. My pics are gone from november 2009 and earlier.

    Dec and january posts work fine.

    What I tried yet that did not work
    – Restore the blog (via myphpadmin)
    – upload the folder wp-content/uploads thru ftp.

    In media folder, the pics are gone: the ? is displayed in the thumbnails. Reason why I tried to upload them once more from my last save.

    Any tips? or do I need to upload once more every image (More than 500 images !!!)
