Hi there, I searched the forum for this topic and didn’t see any answers. Hopefully it is a straightforward easy fix.

I’ve been using W3 (free version) for 2.5 yrs now. Love the plugin and hope we can find a way to stay with W3 and not switch to WP Rocket or Super Cache.

Anyway here is what’s going on.

After some update awhile back (note sure if it was a W3 update or a WP update) my drop down menu on mobile stopped working and was/is broken. (i.e. you hit “menu” and nothing happens)

So I knew it was likely a plugin and after disabling and reenabling all of them it turns out W3 is the culprit.

I’m hoping that perhaps the issue is in the settings. My first thought was to do a default reset of the settings but I can’t for the life of me find that option anymore.

So other than uninstalling and switching to a different plugin (which I’d rather not do) I figured I’d ask for some help in troubleshooting this issue.

Does anyone have any ideas for how to troubleshoot/fix?

Thank you and let me know if you need any further details.

    Cheers!

    Hello @mrrobtfp

I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Please share your website URL so I can check this.
Can you please disable minify in Perfirmance>General settings, save all settings and purge the cache and see if the issue persists?
If the issue is gone, re-enable minify, and disable the settings in Performance>minify one by one (HTML minify, JS minify, CSS minify) and see which one might be causing the issue.
Make sure to save all settings and purge the cache after each option is disabled.
    Thanks!

    Hey @vmarko

Dude thanks so much for this. I went through your checklist here. It turns out the JS minify was the culprit. Not totally sure if we can play around with those settings there (or if they’re even worth messing with, I assume it’s not a big deal speed wise) but I’m a happy camper. Super stoked on this. As soon as I get the site monetized you can bet I’ll be happy to upgrade to premium (and for both our sakes I hope it’s sooner than later ??

If you still need the website URL it’s https://www.thefunctionalpatient.com

Other than that if you want me to try any different settings on the JS minify I’m happy to try them however I’m totally happy as is.

    Cheers and thanks so much

    Hello @mrrobtfp

Thank you for the information and I am glad you found what caused the issue.
As I can see in the test results your minify score is 99.
So there is no need for minifying assets on your website.
We would really appreciate it if you could take a minute and post a review?here. This will help us to continue offering a top-notch product to users.
    Thanks!
