Fatal Error, please help

    Hello,

    When I was trying to update the plug-ins on this website https://allamericanathletes.net somehow one of them took the whole site down – There is a fatal error message happening now and I have no idea how to fix it. How do I get the site back up and running?

    I really could use some help.

    Hi @stephbrendel,

    I had a look at your site and can see this error showing up:

    Fatal error: Can’t use method return value in write context in /home1/allameri/public_html/wp-content/plugins/addons-for-elementor/freemius/includes/class-freemius.php on line 12736

    It seems to be related to Addons for Elementor plugin so disabling it should get your site back up and running.

    Since you can’t access WP admin at the moment, you should access your files via FTP or cPanel and go to wp-content/plugins/ folder and from there rename addons-for-elementor to something like addons-for-elementor_disabled which will disable the plugin and you should be able to open your site again.

    It’s possible that there was some connection issue during the plugin updates which caused corrupt files and returned the error you are facing, so try uplaoding fresh version of Addons for Elementor and other Elementor related plugins and see if the site continues working fine after that.
