Help with ‘GOOD THEME LEAD’ theme

If you find out, please do let me know. I am also having problems:-
“I confess I am new to WordPress. I can usually find my way around things but confess i am copletely stumped with this one, so would very much appreciate some help.

I am running GoodTheme Pro 2. It demo shows that it should show the lates post& picture, then scroll down to the preceding post and picture etc eg look like this:-

I can only get my front page to display as 4 square text boxeswhich is not at all what I want. I have poked around for hours butcannot work out what I should do

Have you had this problem also?

1. Edit index.php and replace <?php the_excerpt();?> with <?php the_content();?>

2. By editing sidebar templates files. Start by looking at sidebar.php and reading up on theme development.

3. You may need to edit your theme’s stylesheet and remove any CSS resizing of images but, without seeing your site, it’s hard to be sure.

Try removing width:220px; from:

#content .post img {
background-color:#EEEEEE;
border:1px solid #DDDDDD;
float:left;
height:101px;
margin:0 10px 15px 0;
padding:5px;
width:220px;
}

in style-Default.css. You might also want to check your thumb and medium size image settings in Admin/Setting/Media.

To be honest I think you’d be better off looking for another theme that gives you that kind of layout. Your current theme would require extensive editing.

Is anyone having issues with getting the image of the featured category to show up on the home page?

I’ve tried adding the custom fields “Featured” with image link and also “featured” with link and can’t get it show up on home page. I’ve also tried resizing the image to the correct image size of 477 x 217 and still cannot get it to work.

For displaying images in featured posts you have to fill custom fields:

In the custom field area, enter the Name as screen and the Value as the url of the image (480×220 px).

the “author” and “homepage” links on the template download page do not work (otherwise, it may have been easier to access these directions)

1. Is there a list of custom fields and how they all work for the GoodTheme Lead?

2. How do you get Flickr photos to show up? I’ve tried everything?

3. Is there a time limit on featured posts? I set it to a category whose only post was some time ago and nothing shows up.

4. Same thing (kinda) for featured video on sidebar…if the category only has one post and it is “too old” will nothing show up? If so, how old is too old? If not, how do you get something to show up?
