    Hi,

I hope someone can help. My website host notified me of a malicious attack and I can’t access my website at all. When I try to open it, this is what appears:

Warning: require(/homepages/13/d759239141/htdocs/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-includes/user.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /homepages/13/d759239141/htdocs/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-settings.php on line 177

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/homepages/13/d759239141/htdocs/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-includes/user.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php7.2′) in /homepages/13/d759239141/htdocs/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-settings.php on line 177

I see from press reports that Word press sites have been attacked by hackers. I’ve tried resetting my password but the email never arrives. I think the password has been changed by the hackers because I can’t get in. I’d be grateful for any help or advice. Thanks so much,

    Marion Todd

See results of the online sucuri scan which detected errors https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.mariontodd.com

    – As described in this article, in WordPress, there several ways for Rsetting Your Password .

If you think your site is hacked, then carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures and start backing up your site.

Hi and thank you so much for such a quick reply.

Unfortunately I can’t get into the site at all so can’t find a way of resetting my password that I understand. But I am grateful for all the links. I’ll try again in the morning (but I’m not hopeful).

Very kind of you to reply – thanks again.

Just a quick update – I’ve managed to log in but now have instructions which I’m struggling to follow because I still can’t access the website. The instructions are:

Please find our analysis result below.
In order to make your website functional again you need to change file permissions at least to 604 after cleaning up.

The following files have been likely uploaded by others.
Please check these files and delete them if neccessary.
    ~/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-content/plugins/wp-file-manager/lib/files/hardfork.php

The following files have been likely modified by others.
Please check these files and re-upload them from a clean backup.
    ~/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-content/plugins/wp-file-manager/lib/files/fQkwGD.php
    ~/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
    ~/clickandbuilds/MarionTodd/wp-includes/user.php

Can anyone suggest how I can follow these instructions with the ability to access the site? I’d be so grateful.

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Marion

The error suggests it’s thrown by your wp-file-manager plugin. try disabling/deleting it

Thanks so much for all your help – I’m very grateful.

I can’t work out how to access the website – if I try with the normal web address permission is denied. If I add the File Manager Plugin to the web address *hardfork.php) I get this:

    Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

This probably sounds really thick but if I try to open any of the bookmarked links to the site I get the Permission Denied messages (as per the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs of my original post). Is there a straightforward way to get into the dashboard that I’m not aware of? I tried this: https://mariontodd.com/wp-file-manager but still got Permission denied.

    Thanks again.
