Google Data Structure for Youtube Lyte embded videos

  • I am using Youtube Lyte plugin. I have got an email from Google today which says: Video Issues detected

    Top Errors
    Errors can prevent your page or feature from appearing in Search results. The following errors were found on your site:
    Missing field “name”
    Missing field “uploadDate”
    Missing field “thumbnailUrl”
    Missing field “description”
    We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.

    Does anybody know how am I able to fix it? Any solutions?

    ticking the “cache thumbnails locally” option will force LYTE to also act on mobile devices (not the case by default as that requires to click on play twice as mobile devices don’t support autoplay) which will ensure Google will be able to “see” the microdata.

    alternatively you can add a code snippet to force LYTE on mobile without local thumbnail caching, let me know if you’d like me to provide that!

    Thanks Frank @optimizingmatters! Where can I find “cache thumbnails locally”? is it inside Youtube Lyte plugin setting? Please send me any code can help.

    yes, that’s an option on the WP YouTube LYTE settings screen.
