add a menu to a menu

Have a number of menus and sub-menus.. have a big need to be able to put a (sub)menu into an existing menu keeping the hierarchy and all that.. as these menus are auto generated via a plugin (nested pages), recreating these menus in the wp menu tab would be way more work and not worth it. (300+ pages)
Is this at all possible? could it be created (will need how to help) in a child theme or is it purely core?
any info, suggestions, or help, etc would be great..

These seem to focused on adding new menus and/or locations as well as responsive or mega-menus.. none address what I need to do..
2 existing menus
want to add menu (b) to menu (a) as sub-menu item to a specific menu item (a page)so it would need to be able to select an existing (or create a new, as required) menu.
