hi there, this is a continuation of the issues my wife’s site is still having, being able to view the Product details on a Product. ever since the upgrade to 4.4.1 the Product options are missing. i have since created a staging site and i’ve done the following:

using WordPress 5.4.2 i deactivated all plugins except WooCommerce. the theme is a commercial one, but since the issue is Editor related and not with the site itself, the theme should not matter.

with 4.4.1 product data is not visible using WordPress 5.4.2, with or without the Enable jQuery Migration plugin installed and activated.

then i upgrade WooCommerce to 4.5.1 (still on 5.4.2 at the time). the upgrade itself is smooth but then it wants to update the database, which hangs with 4 tasks pending. the site has 100 images and maybe 20 products so it really shouldn’t take long to update.

so maybe it needs a WP upgrade? okay fine – i update to WP 5.5.1, Product data is still not visible and this time the database upgrade is hanging with 6 tasks pending after 30 minutes.

so the end result is i have no Product data and cannot upgrade the database to work with WooCommerce 4.5.1. this is definitely not an improvement.

Please advise – at this point the wife cannot edit most of the product settings but the few that are exposed in QuickEdit mode.

    Hi there,

Just to make sure: Are you seeing any JS errors in the console tab of your browser tools? Does the issue persist after doing a theme conflict test? I’m asking as the theme might still have JS code executing in admin.

no – i see no errors in the JS Console tab. nothing is printing except the statement ‘JQMIGRATE:Migrate is installed with logging active’. switching to the 2020 theme made absolutely no difference, Product Data is still not visible when editing products. Database upgrade is still hanging with 4 Pending tasks. i figured the theme wasn’t causing conflict (especially in the editor) but i also assumed you would advise that as that’s standard playbook to assume conflict first.

anyway this update is still very much broken in terms of Product Data visibility and now database upgradability. do you have any other suggestions? i’m on WP 5.5.1 and WC 4.5.1.

I have the same issue after upgrading to WordPress 5.5.1
A quick Google led me to this Github thread
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/27170
So it’s a known issue it seems? However so far i haven’t seen any methods to fix it.

i have another longer post on this forum where i went through all the steps, and basically there is currently no way forward using default WooCommerce, because the blockage is caused by WP and does not seem to respond to jQuery migrate being reactivated (possibly because it’s editor based and not the site pages maybe? i don’t know). it’s still not fixed at least for me, but as far as i can tell it prints no JS/Jquery or PHP errors to the console, it just doesn’t show up.

the only way forward i have found was to use a free bulk editor plugin called WOOBE (Woocommerce Bulk Editor). it may give you enough access to product data to work with it. the paid version (about $35 US) exposes a lot more settings as well.

    good luck!

Apologies this seems fixed in the latest version of WC

@metaphysician. Is this issue resolved for you after updating WooCommerce?

In case you have already resolved this issue, if there is no update on this thread within the next week, we will go ahead and resolve the thread. In that case, please feel free to start a new thread if you have additional questions.
