“Edit pages” not working / intermittent

    • WP 2.9.1 (started happening in 2.9)
    • Theme: Rockin’ Newspaper for AdSense (behavior also exhibited when using WP Default)
    • Behavior exhibited with none, one, or more plugins active.
      Not using any WP widgets
    • Behavior exhibited in FF, Chrome, Opera, IE (cache cleared)

    Site has 270 pages, in a sub-directory. Also has regular blog posts, which are *not* affected by this issue.

    Go to the Dashboard > Left Nav > Pages > Edit > List of pages is exhibited > Choose a page to edit

    Some times the page comes up for editing. Sometimes not.

    The only correlation I can see is that the more recent pages are the ones which are misbehaving.

    I *am* able to go to a published page, grab the source and then make a new page using the same code. But once I publish it I cannot get back in to edit it.

    Have extended my time out in my browsers, no luck.

    I think that I may not be the only one with this issue, but other earlier posts did not have as much info.

  • Having a similar problem. The edit pages screen just does not load at all.

    Likewise – I just upgraded a customer to 2.9.1 and now the page edit menu loads about halfway – down to the bottom of the Page Slug field. The right sidebar with all the save options is gone.

    Not getting better. As a matter of fact, for a while I had been able to add new pages by disabling all plugins. Now I can’t even do that.

    This is extremely inconvenient, although I am (somewhat) glad to see that I am not the only one having the problems.

    For the other who have responded so far, can you tell us if you match up with all or some of the specs I posted at the start of the thread?

    To reiterate:

    now happening on a different blog with Atahualpa theme.
    All other details remain the same.
    Appears to happen with longer pages?

    SOLVED?
    Early days yet. But I think that the issue may solved.
    As I said, am hosted at 1&1
    Added this to htcaccess file on root

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

    and now I think it is working

    I am still facing this issue. Using

    WordPress 2.9.2
    Theme: WPComic 2.0.4 by Gorilla Ninja
    Hosted on a Linux Server

    Having the same issue since updating to 2.9.2
    All new creating areas come up blank.

    Create a page, post, edit a post… all blank ‘done’

    :/
