Change the old theme to a new one, good for SEO

    My site is https://dobeweb.com/ and use a free wordpress theme, and I have used this theme for a long time, if I change to a new completely different theme, is it good for seo, I mean, the rank of my site will go up and down? Is is good to change theme?

  • In most cases, any change in SEO is negligible. One big factor in SEO degradation is having broken links so unless your new theme is going to tear apart some existing links, you should be fine.

    In short, without considering any other variables like SEO plugins, permalink structure, etc…, from a search engine’s eyes, it won’t make much of a difference.

    On the other hand, if your site has been around for a while, changing themes could be a good thing from a user perspective. Just don’t do it too often. IMO, once in the first six months and once a year after that is the max.

    No problem. With an Alexa ranking near 50k and you haven’t changed your theme up until now, your site is probably ready for a makeover.
