    Hi,

I’m getting blurry YouTube thumbnails when I use this plugin. I disabled it and the issue cleared up. So how can I use this and prevent blurry thumbnails?

Hi @multimastery, if you go to the plugin’s admin panel and select the Youtube tab, there’s a “Thumbnail quality” option. You can increase the quality there. Does that work for you?
Do you think it would make sense to increase the quality to “Higher quality” by default, as opposed to the current “Standard quality”?

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your response. I think I will hold off on this now because I just realized that I can’t prevent YouTube from showing suggested videos to other channels at the end of my vide unless I use their full embed code and alter the code. But the way I understand it, your plugin uses the OEmbed method, which offers no control to prevent this.

@multimastery Despite the plugin does listen to oembed-conform URLs, it is creating its own iframe, not using the oembed one. I assume you’re referring to the “rel” query param. It is set to “0” by default as part of my plugin: https://github.com/kevinweber/lazy-load-for-videos/blob/9ebd89b02a72b84cabbdc6b3dfbebc99d05cec6a/src/frontend/lazyload-youtube/lazyloadYoutube.js#L66
You can even disable video annotations (query param: iv_load_policy=3) by checking the “Hide annotations” option in the admin panel.

Yes, I see that it doesn’t show any suggested videos at the end, so that’s good.
But the problem now is that I did try changing the thumbnail resolution to Max, and it just produced a blank thumbnail. I also tried the higher resolution option, but it didn’t look any better that standard. And yes I cleared my cache, and I even pressed “Update posts to setup your plugin for the first time or when recommended somewhere” …although I don’t really think I needed to press that again and quite frankly don’t even fully know what it does.
