Sender is different Than the one defined

Same problem for me. All emails are being sent with the WordPress admin email address as the “From” name and email address fields. No setting change in Post SMTP alters this behavior.

could be… For me it’s every plugging that uses WordPress default send feature, sends it with the different sender.

I checked throughout the database (phpmyadmin) and that address doesn’t appear there, I don’t know where it’s getting it from, it’s sending with the address of the old domain.

what’s even stranger is that if I use send a test, then it’s correct. but if a plug-in tries to send than it’s using the old from address and they “reply to” is correct.

So I read that the plugin developer’s real job may be keeping him from supporting his plugin, which is unfortunate. I need an SMTP plugin that works correctly.

In my case, the only thing I can figure out is that the Gmail API probably forces the “From:” address to be the primary Gmail (in our case, GSuites) address because that’s the address that is used, despite what I change this plugin’s setting to.

is there a place and the process where you define an email to send from?

in my opinion at some point, you have to have a pro version. the plug-in has more than 200k active users there is no way that he can offer support to so many people, even if only 1% need help

I tried to contribute to these projects is much as I can, but unfortunately those that rely only on donations are usually abandoned, and the entire community is harmed because of that, a pro version is better than an abandoned project that’s for sure.

Hopefully Yehudah will have time and give us is opinion here.

I would love to answer a detailed answer but I think I can summarise it:
Me and Post SMTP are here to stay.

I know my ability to give 360 degrees support is limited but I think Post SMTP has great power when you configure it properly even when it takes more time than other plugins…. his unique features doing the difference: notification on failed emails, backup SMTP delivery, and more.

For your issues:
1. From address is changed on delivery –

2. Not sure it was needed but still… send as a different alias address with Gmail:

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you,, and hope you’ll have an awesome success story, the plug-in is great.

regarding the solutions, I’ve seen those. in “how-to-send-email-from-alias-domain-with-gsuite-google-apps” point 7 is not so clear, other than that I’ve done the rest of the changes and it still persists.

The thing is, in my case when I do the test from Post SMTP, it sends the correct email but when I use contact form 7, or a newsletter plug-in it sends from the wrong email

Change the SMTP Sending type to “Gmail API”

I am using the Gmail API.

I am sending email from a dozen WP multi-site installs. I had created the API instances for all in the primary GSuites account, thinking that I would be able to alter the From email name and address within the plugin. I am now recreating the API connections within the GSuites account that is most appropriate for the purpose of the site/email. Not great but it will do.
