Quite a bit of our content involves cloning (use a WP clone plug-in) old deals articles when an offer is repeated.

We clone the old article, change it slightly (new closing date, new rules etc) and then publish it as a new article.

These posts are not being submitted to Apple News when published. Posts which are written from scratch ARE published OK. This makes me think that there is something in the cloned post which the plug-in reads and assumes that the post is already published to Apple News, which it isn’t.

    Hope that makes sense!

That’s correct, it’s reading the postmeta from the cloned post. If it’s possible to configure the cloning plugin, or filter it, to not copy over postmeta beginning with “apple_news_” then that would solve the issue. Unfortunately, as the issue is with a third party plugin, we aren’t able to assist further.
