    Hello @nomaddaniele,

Thanks for reaching out to our support.

Yes, you’re right on the Private Download Links customization.

Our PDA Lite/Free version doesn’t support auto-generate or customize new Private Download Link. That means you can’t set or edit its Download Limit and Expiry either.

Refer to what our PDA Gold has to offer compared to our Lite version.

Please let us know if it’s clearer to you.

    Hi @buildwps

    Thank you for the clarification.

One more question, if I may. When you talk about Download limit, what do you mean?

Because when someone clicks on the link, the file gets opened with the pdf viewer of the browser and, usually, they all allow people to download the pdf. Does your plugin prevent that?

    Thanks a lot

    Hi @nomaddaniele,

Download limit refers to the number of times users are allowed to access the file directly via the Private Download Link.

For example, if you limit your private links to 5 downloads, they will be invalid on the 6th click.

Instead of click or date restriction, you can set the file access permission to logged-in users as well.

While PDA Gold allows you to prevent your protected files from being indexed by Google and shared without permission, you might want to check out our Watermark WordPress Files plugin if you want users to view but not download your PDF files.

Let us know if it makes sense to you.
