WP-Coda

  • I really like the style and function of this theme, but I’m not as savvy as some & I’m having trouble editing the header & header links. I would appreciate some help, because I’ve seen some really nice pages using this theme, so I know it’s just me! I can’t figure out what I need to do to make my header stretch & line up with the header links, & I am not quite sure how to change the header links to display my own downloads & such. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer a new-comer!

  • Your present header_bg.jpg is 600 x 187 pixels. I think you have to redesign it to 900 px (being the width of your header) or 800 px (the width of your slider.
    You can resize it but then the height will grow too (much).
    Make sure to save and upload it under exact the same name.

    Next get rid of the spam for the theme (unless that’s a condition for being allowed to use it). I can’t tell from here in which template file the commands are. Probably in header.php bit if you are not familiar with editing these files then don’t.
    Easier to get another free theme with less spam.

    Thanks, henkholland. I’ve been messing with the image sizes & I have gotten it a bit larger than it was, & I know the color doesn’t match yet!

    But as far as spam, the buttons in existence the way that they are is just how the preview looked. They can be changed, I know because there are some other successfully edited pages using the WP Coda theme. I’m just unsure of what to change & how to do so, because that image opens up as one long image & NOT 3 separate buttons as I thought it should.
