How to manually switch the role of a normal user to vendor?

You will need to log in as the administrator in your WordPress dashboard. From there, you will need to navigate in “Users”, select the user you would like to change the role and edit it’s role ??

Thanks for your reply. You have described how normally you will change a role of a user. I know that. Sure, you can change the role to “vendor”. However, WC Vendor change the role of a user from subscriber to “subscriber, vendor”. This is what my question really is. How can I change the role to “subscriber, vendor”?

Hi Zen,

We don’t have such role. You can use third party plugin to edit the roles to how you would like them to work on your website.

The reason we don’t remove roles is that there are other plugins that require multiple roles. We used to completely wipe out a vendors roles so they are only a vendor but this caused conflicts with other plugins such as forum and social media plugins. This is why a vendor can have multiple roles. You can set the user to have a primary role of a vendor, however, this will not remove their other roles.

@digitalchild That make sense, but how do i “recreate” these “multiple roles” in a user? I think that i my original question. Because in some situations, you will need to reset the roles.
