Woocommerce Square: Persistent “Sync failed. Please try again” message.

    Hi, I’ve recently started experiencing sync issues with Square where a manual sync always results in a “Sync failed” alert. I’ve been trying to resolve a background processing issue via my hosting provider and having this option is critical

    I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting to Square, deactivating potential problem plugins, and running it from Scheduled Actions. Would greatly appreciate any further guidance. Many thanks!

  • Hopefully there is a resolution soon. I’m having the same issue. My client very recently switched from sandbox Square to live, and while automatic syncs seem to work, manual ones result in a “Sync failed” alert.

    Thanks, @ce11iott, my auto syncs seem to work as well. Although, it never seems to fully sync the product inventory – only a few items at a time.

    Same with us @bmoh, the auto sync seems to only sync a few of the products that were updated on Square.

    I noticed this issue yesterday as well. Manual sync works for me, but auto is still failing as of 6 hours ago.

    Thanks for reaching out!

    Can you please check if you have Debug logging enabled in WooCommerce > Settings > Square?

    If yes, please run another manual sync, wait for it to fail and check logs in WooCommerce > Status > Logs:

    – choose the latest square logfile from the drop-down and check if there are any errors there. Note that the log might be long, so please make sure to at least skim the whole log for any warning/errors

    – check if you have fatal_log in the drop-down and if there are any fresh fatal logs

    Paste your errors here but please redact any sensitive information from there before posting them publicly.

    @dale3h and @ce11iott could you please open a new thread each with your System Status reports + any errors that you see after running the same steps as I outlined above?

    I have Debug logging enabled and after running another failed manual sync I checked the latest Square Logfile and could not detect any warning/errors.

    I reported it to our developers and the fix will be included in Square 2.2.0 which will be released on Monday.

    I’m having issues as well. I have never been able to run a successful sync to the square database.

    As of today manual and auto syncs are working flawlessly after the update!! Many thanks for your help and best of luck to everyone else who’d run into this issue.

    I’m so glad that the update resolved sync issues for you! I’ll mark this thread as Resolved now.

    @gawebwarrior I’d need to take a closer look at your Square sync logs in conjunction to the error you reported. Please make sure that logging is enabled in WooCommerce > Settings > Square and then please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Tickets. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.

    Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

    We will be able to help you further there.
