Changing theme widget & page placement
-
My current theme, Happenstance, is no longer supported. I want a theme that will stay supported for a while, hence looking at twentytwenty or twentyseventeen. But I have some questions about what it will look like and how I can change it.
1. Happenstance places widgets along the side, as well as at the foot, of home page. Live preview of both twentytwenty and twentyseventeen shows widgets at the bottom. Is that a function of the ‘preview’ mode or what the page will look like? If I want a widget on the side, can I get it there, maybe with block editor? Or do I need to find a theme that does that for me?
2. If I move a page from being a parent page to be a child of another page, what happens to the links on that page? For example: https://journeysintolight.org/awakening-to-the-larger-life-2/
3. Mobile theme (on all themes) doesn’t use the image I’ve placed at the top of my desktop page. Rather, it uses an image taken from one of the ancillary pages, to wit: Crop Circles. How do I rectify that?
